IN VAIN

1 Is your life in vain?  How old are you?  How old were you five years ago?  Think about how fast those five years have flown by, or just think about the last year.   I'm 23, years have flown by like days for me.

2 Five years ago I was 18, a big difference between 17 and 23.
One day we're all going to die, the nice thing about death is that there is life after death, wheter it be heaven or whether it be hell, it be.

3 How about this life?  Are you happy with your life now?   Remember that this life is just for a little while.

4 Lets say you went to see a movie yesterday, you enjoyed it, but are you enjoying it now?  That movie that you watched yesterday really doesn't matter at all.

5 There's a void in your life-  sorry if  you don't agree, but it's the truth, there's a void in everyones life.  We try to fill that emptiness with every thing imaginable:  Movies, television, money, alchaol, drugs, sex, material things, finding that special  someone, food, our jobs, the Internet, sports, and the list goes on and on.  The sad thing is nothing that we try can or ever fill the emptiness in our life, nothing except a personal relationship with God.

6 Romans 6:21-23 What fruit had ye in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.  But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord

I know you need some Jesus in your life.  George W. Truett told the story of a man who wasted a fortune in search of peace and happiness, then died in a cheap motel.  When they found his body, they found next to his bed this poem written with pencil on a piece of tablet paper:

I've tried in vain a thousand ways,
My fears to quell, my hopes to raise,
And all I need, the Bible says, is Jesus.

My soul is night; my heart is steel.
I cannot see; I cannot feel.
For light, for life, I must appeal to Jesus.

He died; He lives; He reigns; He pleads.
There is love in all His words and deeds.
All, all a guilty sinner needs is Jesus.

Though some will mock, and some will blame;
In spite of fear, in spite of shame, I'll go to Him
because His name is Jesus.

John 11:15 He that hath ears to
hear, let him hear.
